Engineering Challenge
Coordinated Delivery Within a Live Public Environment
The project required large-scale external solar lighting and CCTV infrastructure to be delivered within an operational public complex.
A significant portion of the programme was allocated to procurement, requiring careful sequencing between equipment delivery and site mobilisation.
Installation works involved excavation and underground cabling across active pedestrian areas, where safety management and disruption control were essential.
Structured cabling routes also needed to be accurately installed and protected to ensure long-term operational reliability.
MEP Scope of Work
Electrical Systems
- Supply & installation of 250+ solar-powered LED streetlights
- 6m pole-mounted lighting systems
ELV Systems
- Pole-mounted CCTV cameras
- 7,500+ metres of structured cabling infrastructure
Civil & Infrastructure Works
- Excavation and trenching
- Reinforced concrete pole base casting
- Manhole construction for cable routing and maintenance access
Engineering Solution
Phased Execution & Structured Infrastructure Planning
Hitech finalised technical specifications at an early stage and aligned supplier coordination with the site programme to prevent delays.
Installation activities were divided into controlled work zones to maintain safe public access. Excavation and trenching were sequenced to minimise disruption.
Cabling routes were planned before trenching commenced. Manholes were constructed at strategic intervals to protect underground infrastructure and allow future maintenance access. Reinforced concrete foundations were cast to ensure long-term stability of the 6m pole installations.
Outcome & Performance
Improved Security, Sustainability & Site Reliability
The completed system provides consistent external illumination and strengthened CCTV coverage across walkways, parking areas, and perimeter zones.
The solar-powered infrastructure supports reliable night-time operation while reducing dependence on grid power.
All works were delivered within programme under structured safety controls and without disruption to public use of the facility.
